Once in awhile, I like to peek around the other blogs out there and see how some of my blogging friends are doing on their hunting seasons.  I find that I’m particularly apt to this behavior when I’m not getting out to do much hunting of my own.

Anyway, one of my long-time favorite blogs is the Deer Camp Blog, run by my virtual friend, Rex.  Their deer season has been pretty good, and Rex appears to have the biggest buck in camp so far.   They’re also putting the smack-down on some hogs back there too, from the looks of things!

Then, we look north to Michigan, and my buddy Arthur at Simply Outdoors.  Arthur put some meat in the freezer earlier this year, but filling that next tag seems to be a bit of a challenge for him… especially since the flu put him on the sidelines for part of the season.  Good luck to ya, Arthur!

Down in the South Carolina Low Country, our friend Jeff is guiding and blogging at the Cypress Creek Hunting Club.  They’ve had some unseasonably warm weather down there this year, and it’s made the deer hunting a little sketchy.  Even so, they’ve taken some good whitetails, and not a few bruiser hogs as well!  This place is on my list for a one-of-these-days hunt.

There are a bunch of other blogs we love to visit, and I’m in the process now of updating our blog roll so you folks can hop over and check them out too.

Thanks for the mention, Phillip. Luckily I put venison in the freezer early, because if I had to depend on the last few weeks to fill the freezer, I’d be in trouble.

Thanks for posting the hunting site links. Antelope, mule deer, WT, and elk season was all good here. Snow came late in the valleys but hunters wiling to hike a mile or so from the road (and climb 2,000 feet to get to snow) did well.

Good advise EcoRover would that “any” armchair adventurer venture much distance past their truck, they would see a whole new world which they did not even know existed before!
